Royal Claims Services Ltd. is a Lloyd's Third Party Administrator dedicated to serving the niche and specialty market. The organization was established to enhance its sister company, Special Risk Insurance Managers, fulfilling a need for a dedicated claims service for its clients. Both organizations maintain a strong focus on service and quality. Since it’s inception as a one person organization, Royal Claims has grown to include over 100 years of claims experience in almost all lines of the industry. The experience shared by the group allows Royal Claims to handle some of the most challenging and diverse losses in the industry. Service and quality are what Royal Claims was built on and continue to be the cornerstones of the company as it grows.
Norm graduated from Laurentian University in Sudbury Ontario with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1986 and launched directly into an Insurance Career as an Independent adjuster. He successfully earned his FCIP designation in 1996. After making a switch to the company side of the industry, Norm held Claims Manager positions for 14 years split between National and International Property and Casualty Insurers. He is a technically proficient claims professional with multi-line residential and commercial major loss claims handling experience. He is known for completing detailed coverage analysis and for the accurate interpretation of a wide variety of complex loss scenarios.
He transferred to Vancouver in early 1972 and the company name changed to Fireman’s Fund and to the Wellington Insurance Company. He was the Claims Manager of the BC Branch from 1976 until 1979, when he joined up with Garry Clifford. Through the years, Clifford Adjusters changed names, from Pritchard & Associates to Pritchard, Woodall & Associates, which sold to Claims Pro Inc. in 2008. Vince has taught all the claims courses (including Liability) since 1980, after achieving his FCIP designation. He received the BC Insurance Person of the Year in 2006. Vince has a wealth of property and casualty experience. He has acted as an Appraiser and Umpire many times and frequently participates in Mediations and Pre-Trials.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Matt began his career in claims for a local auto insurance direct writer. He quickly progressed from a telephone adjuster to a claims manager in the Property department. Matt then shifted to become an examiner specializing in property claims. Over the coming years Matt would see a significant variety of property losses and played a large role in catastrophe scenarios. Matt brings a strong property background and looks to expand and grow his skills at Royal Claims. Throughout his career Matt has completed his CRM designation and is nearing completion of his CIP.
Victor started his career in 1979 as a Field Adjuster handling property and casualty claims. After 15 years on the road, he made the move into a regional multi-line Claims Examiner role and, within two years, made a move into a Head Office Claims Specialist position, working on property and casualty claims on a national level. Victor was then promoted into the Head Office Claims Manager position. While remaining in that role for 12 years, he participated in the development of company standards, audits, claims policies, and procedures. In 2000, he earned his “FCIP” and “CRM” professional designations.
Lisa Kurath has been with the company since February 2013. After several years in accounting, she recently joined Royal Claims. In her current position, as a Claims Examiner, she specializes in the handling of accident and marine claims. Lisa is continuing to learn & grow within the company.
